I. Dirty or faded?
You've probably often wondered, "How do you clean caps?" The first step is to distinguish whether the cap is actually dirty or perhaps faded by sun exposure. Because if the fabric is faded, you won't get the color back. If the fabric is dirty, for example from dust or sweat stains, you have a very good chance of getting the cap clean again. How? We'll describe that in the following paragraphs!
II. Warm water, detergent, and a toothbrush
The heading describes what you theoretically only need.
1. First, mix warm water with very little detergent in a bowl.
2. Then apply this detergent-water mixture to the dirty area with a toothbrush. Circular motions help to loosen the dirt.
3. Repeat this process and don't forget to rinse the dirty toothbrush.
4. Now let your cap air dry and wait for the result.
III. Try this insider tip if the first option wasn't enough
Now we come to a real insider tip. By the way, it also works for your sneakers – but that's up to each individual.
You can put your pre-treated cap in the dishwasher!
It goes without saying that the dishwasher should be empty. It's best to use the pre-rinse function, because then the water is cold and not hot. Hot water can dissolve adhesives, and that's precisely why you should use the dishwasher and not the washing machine. In addition, the cap can deform due to the spin cycle in the washing machine.
Good luck!
